Leaking Brita Filter Attachment

Answers

how do i attach a brita water filter?

Mine keeps popping off the sink and leaking with the attachments they gave me and it's very annoying! How do I make it stay on?

There are different thread sizes in/on the faucet spouts. Sometimes the adapters that come with the product don't quite fit, but are close enough to make one think they are the correct size.
If you have the old aerator that came off the spout, you can take that into your hardware store to check what size it is...and purchase the exact size adapter you may need.
Sometimes the washers they provide are too thick, and a thinner one is more appropriate.
Make sure the threads are clean of any build-up or corrosion..but be careful, these threads are very delicate.
The use of Teflon tape or a thread sealer can help as well...and you shouldn't need to use any wrench's or pliers in tightening the attachments...hand tight should be good enough...the use of a tool can damage the finish and bend the parts out of round...which will cause leaks in itself.

Brita 42645 Aquaview On Tap Filtration System

I have had this product for I think about 6 months now and I still haven't had to change the filter. When I first got it, I did have to buy an attatchment from the hardware store for my faucet. My faucet is the kind that is supposed to look like an old farmhouse faucet, so it was a little small. The attachment was only around so it wasn't a big deal. The filter does leak every now and then, epecially when I use hot water, but it doesn't leak enough to bother me. It still does what it needs to do and it saves me a ton of money on bottled water.

Product Review: PUR Water Filter | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn

Lucky winner Sally of our PUR water filter giveaway last month has followed up with a review. Her boyfriend, if you remember, insisted on bottled water and Sally wanted to do a blind water swap to wean him off the bottled stuff. Did it work? Read on...

When my PUR water filter arrived, I conspired to trick my boyfriend into drinking a bottle filled with the filtered water rather than his usual brand, and he didn’t bat an eye. We both then did a blind taste test with tap, filtered, and bottled water. He liked both the filtered and bottled water, and I was surprised to find that I preferred the filtered water.

Besides taste, the PUR filter is easy to use. All it takes is a flip of the switch.

However, there are drawbacks. It takes away a good two inches of height in the sink, making it difficult to deal with a large pile of dishes. Another drawback is that despite the inclusion of multiple adaptors, o-rings, and plenty of tightening, I cannot get it to stop leaking. This means that when a glass is filled, some water will manage to escape down the drain.
