I want to purchase Granular Activated Carbon (coconut shell based) for drinking water purification. Norit brand or simillar, in 12Kg bags. This will be regular, year round purchase. Can someone help me on this ?
I would try the phone book.
Nanostructured Carbon Water Filter. It#39;s 350 times higher adsorption effect than GAC \ Granular Activated Carbon.
Building a home in the Philippines which is powered by solar power, has a 30m deep well, and rainwater collection system.
The water scares me to drink and I'm wondering the best way to purify it.
My first thought is boiling it or at least heating it
But also thinking ozone, activated carbon, sand filtration, UV light, etc, etc.
Water is being kept in a cistern and still working out all the plumbing...
Any ideas would be appreciated
kamusta? have your water sample check by a lab first, then decide on what purification system needed. Who knows you might not need those power consuming apparatus.
If you do need one, i can refer you a water mineral pot (water purifier -gravity type -and making it alkaline for good health)

how water purification devices work in the laboratory
Purified water is water that has been physically processed using a water purification device to remove impurities. There are a considerable number of methods and devices that can be used for this purpose.
While distillation and deionization are the most common, there are a number of other methods in use. These include reverse osmosis, carbon filtration, microporous filtration, ultrafiltration, ultraviolet oxidation or electrodialysis. Various filters are used in most of these processes. A combination of some of processes is sometimes utilized to produce water of such high purity that its levels of trace contaminants are measured in parts per billion (ppb) or even parts per trillion (ppt). Highly purified water such as this is often used in laboratories and in engineering applications.
A water purification device or system is used to produce potable drinking water as well as to produce purified water for use in the lab. Some of these devices are employed in specific fields or for unique purposes. A purification device that is used in basic chemistry applications is categorized by purity level.
...How to find the best faucet water purifier?
What is the best tap water filter today? The water is filtered to give 100% pure water? Where water is filtered to get rid of various pollutants found in the waters of today? You can find these applications throughout the world. People know that the water they drink is not safe, and they want to do something about it. However, no, the filter right to water is easy, if you do not know how the water filters and the proper way to clean water.
As you may know, there are various methods to clean the water. Of these methods, reverse osmosis, point of use distillation and filtration with activated carbon are the three most important and popular methods. Then, you must choose one of these three methods. Remember – no matter how sophisticated filter for tap water seems, is not good, if its method of purification of water is wrong. So, let's look at each of these methods and decide which is best.
