Need to buy a drinking water dispenser - but have had no luck at Best Denki or Carre Four. Any ideas?
the water dispenser normally used in an office is only for rent, you can try check online on Sg local site 88db to look for water dispenser, you can find something like Pere Ocean, but not sure if you can buy the water dispenser, or you can also try Eriva Water Solution

Right now I have hard water and drink water from my filtered water dispenser in my fridge. If I install soft water, will the water in my fridge be drinkable since it has the filter?

get something that you could get to stick to the end of the spout like cheese or something .. i dunno what rabbits eat really.. carrot cake icing? but once it realizes that the water comes from there its set ,, if it dont figure it out then natural selection wins again

He is a Boston Terrier named Charlie. I tried putting his favorite treats near it but when I got home all of the treats were still there. He will go days without drinking water until we pour some in his old traditional bowl. How do I go about alleviating his fears of something new that makes noises as the air bubbles go in and water comes out of it.(looks like a watercooler for dogs)
Ok, my wife corrected me. He does not go days w/ out water. She will sit near the bowl and try to coax him and if he doesn't, she will just refill his old bowl. We didn't buy it for the coolness factor - moreso, because it was advertised that it would provide fresher water for him. My wife used to wash his old bowl out every couple of days anyways.
Thanks.
You need to return to his old bowl/dispenser. Some dogs are sensitive to change of this kind. One of ours is. We tried switching bowls, and they stopped drinking. You want them NOT to get dehydrated or sick. That's why I say switch it back. Maybe for a while you could have both old and new water dispenser in the same room. Maybe he'll get the idea. If not, just remember, you don't want the tail to wag the dog, so to speak, in this situation. The point is not to make the dog conform to a specific piece of commercial hardware you bought, but to make sure he drinks water, and has a way to do it with which he is comfortable. The point's the dog's well-being, not that you paid $18 for a water thingie.
Hey everyone.
My refrigerator's water dispenser is in desperate need of cleaning... the water tastes horrible even when the filter is changed and now I started noticing that black specs are forming from the water dispenser!
Given that these specs form when water stands still, I suspect they are fungi and not bits of activated charcoal.
I drink water from the tap now so I don't use the dispenser, but it'd still be nice to know what to do about it... it looks ugly!
I still think it might be charcoal. But you said that the water tastes real bad.
You didn't say what model or brand so I can't help you much.
But I know whirlpool will work without the filter in place. GE's come with a bypass for doing that. Some won't work that way. I say remove the filter first and flush it if you can.
One problem is that the charcoal removes the chlorine in the water. Then stuff can grow if it goes unused.
You can leave the chlorinated water in it by flushing it without the filter in place.
On older ones that use an actual tank, I have seen sediment build up in the tank. Those tanks are located behind the crispers. Some you can remove. Some you can't (without cutting it loose and adding connectors) But sometimes you can remove the screws and invert them and then flush it out by running it.
You might look underneath at the lines themselves and see if you see any mold in the lines. Under the unit is the most likely place since it is warm under there. You may need lines replaced.
The only time I have seen that here is when the customer double filter by using a charcoal filter for the whole kitchen and second one on the refrigerator. Definitely no chlorine for them .
Good Luck.
Edit-PS. We have seen some of those flexible waterlines, the reinforced plastic types, react with the water and stink real bad if your ph is high on the household water.

Foodservice Operations Waste Drinking Water, Too « Food Waste Focus
Yes, we focus on food waste here. But drinking water is another frequently wasted item in foodservice, so we pay attention.
Think of all the glasses of drinking water we pour for diners that never touch them, or all the plastic water bottles we sell, or the infinite number of water pitchers we set-up for conference events. The bottom-line is: foodservice wastes lots of drinking water.
The impacts are three-fold:
When we empty unused glasses and pitchers, we waste the drinking water itself, which has become an increasingly scarce resource . When we wash permanent ware such as glasses and pitchers, we waste energy, water, and labor. We throw away a massive volume of single-use plastic water containers. How can we do better?
Three solutions:
In cafeteria/buffet environments, place “plumbed-in” drinking water dispensers...Reports Research Blog » RIC has published the new Beijing Packaged ...
The total drinking water consumption of Beijing equaled 7.95 million tons in 2008. As for packaging modes, barreled water was more popular, and more than 50% of families bought water dispensers. Barreled water has become the major source of drinking water and reached 3,395,000 tons. Bottled water and tap water amounted to 2.075 million tons and 2.48 million tons. According to the nature of water, drinking water can be divided into mineral water and pure water. In Beijing, mineral water occupies a larger share in bottled water market, while pure water accounts for a greater share in barreled water market. In sales price, barreled mineral water is more expensive than barreled pure water by RMB 2 on average, which is one of reasons for why consumers would like to choose barreled pure water. On the other hand, barreled pure water is more suitable for brewing a variety of beverage, such as tea and coffee, so pure water is more popular.
