The pur 3 stage filter becasuse it gives you better tasting water because of the last stage in which it filters the water over select minerals and it also cleans your water better with stage one and stage two...the downs to this three stage filter though is that you have to change the fliters AND minerals unlike the one stage filter where you must change just one filter....the three stage filter is also a little bigger and bulkier....in the end both filters have good sides and bad sides but i would go with the 3 stager

My roommate and I have a Brita pitcher that fits inside the door on our fridge. It is conveniently sized and a nice shape to do so, and it does an excellent job keeping our water clean and delicious. The filters last for about three months, which isn't too bad, and there is an indicator that tells you when you need to change it. We are very satisfied with it, and I recommend you take a look at the Brita.

Easy One-Click Installation
When I first used it, it was working ok, pretty good. Now, it has only been a few weeks and my light is still green, but it hardly comes out. I took everything off to make sure everything was good and it was but the problem isn't fixed. There's good water pressure in my sink, and when I use the regular water part of it. But when the filter is on, it just drips out! Literally drips! Also, when I took it apart and was looking at it, it didn't make any sense. It doesn't seem like the water even goes through the filter??? Can some one who has one of these figure this out?
new filter huh? Ok, but tell me how it works, because upon closer inspection, I think this is a crock, because the water never goes through the "filter" at all! It comes out of the sink beside the filter and out the little opening right away! At which point does the filter come in because I'm not seeing it.....

get you to rush to buy another one? ours just turned red (we have the stage 3 for the faucet) and I don't know if it's a dire emergency to get a new one or if we can wait a bit..They arent' cheap :)
well, depending on where you live, the filter may be unncessary entirely. but if you live in a place where the water is sketchy...i tend to think, yes, of course, the company will make it "red" early so that you buy more. but i also would not want to risk it. all that said, it is likely that your tap water is safe, so i would NOT stress about it.
