Moen 1222 cartridge - Water not coming out of spout but before the valve?

Hi,
In my bathtub, I replaced moen valve 1222 thinking that this would be the problem of not having water coming out of the shower.
For my surprise, I still don't have water, however when the valve is removed, there is water coming out. A few drops occur with the valve installed.
please provide me your feedback if you know what is going on.
thansk,

remove the cartridge, turn 180 degrees, re-insert cartridge. It's installed upside down. To verify that the pipe rising to the shower head is not plugged, which would be unlikely in my opinion, take the cartridge out, put your hand over the cartridge hole and have someone turn the water on for you. This will force the water to go up the shower riser.

also, lubricate the cartridge with a small ammount of vaseline when you install it. This will keep the rubber washer from binding when you slide it in.

No water coming out of air release valve of pool cartridge filter...?

I've just installed a new cartridge filter. It is the System 3 Mod Media Filter. I read in the manual that during the initial start up phase, I must wait for a steady stream of water to come out of the air release valve before closing it. However, I am not getting any water out of this valve. I can see that the pump is primed and water is released back into the pool. What could be problem for this not to happen as stated in the manual?

IF YOU HAVE RETURN TO THE POOL WHEN THE PUMP IS ON , THEN IT SOUNDS LIKE TO ME THAT YOU DONT HAVE THE VALVE OPEN ENOUGH OR THERE IS A CLOG IN THE AIR RELIEF SOMEWHERE !

Can water hammer rotate the cartridge in a shower faucet?

I have a Moen single-handle Posi-Temp shower faucet. After replacing my water heater and turning the water back on, there was significant water hammer when I turned on the shower faucet. After that, the water is no longer off when the handle is at six o'clock; instead it shuts off at three o'clock. Turning it all the way counter-clockwise is no longer warm enough. Could the water hammer have turned the 1222 cardridge inside the valve? If so, do I just need to remove the cartridge, realign and reinstall it in the valve so that six o'clock is the shutoff position again? Or does the cartridge need to be replaced? Note that it is not leaking -- just misaligned.

No water hammer would not rotate the cartridge. But is it possible the attaching screw has become loose betweent he henadle and the cartridge?
Also the hammer may have loosened up some crud in the valve body/cartridge. I'd pull it (carefully) clean and reinstall.

Hot water running only in Shower with Single-knob valve?

In one of the two bathrooms - that we rarely used - I recently found that shower has now only hot water running. The valve is Moen brand with a single knob. On turning this, I get no cold water, but just hot water.
I removed the knob, and decided to maybe replace the cartidge, but could not make any headway, after removing the acrylic knob. First, do I need to remove the cartridge?
If yes, how? Is it possible to remove it without removing the back-plate glued to the Tile walls?

Will appreciate detailed instructions to remove or fix the valve?

thanks

the valve should have a c shaped clip holding it in.
do that with the water shut off.
if you have cold water to the tub spout, maybe the valve body is clogged with sediment, or a CW valve has collapsed.you have to remove the back plate to access the valve body.

I have low water flow in my new tub/shower faucet, but WHY?

I am replacing a 3 handle faucet with a new 1 handle model with a temperature control. When I flush the valve body, I timed the water and I get 3.75 gallons per minute. As soon as I put the cartridge in, the flow reduces to 2.25 gallons per minute. I have tried two different faucet models and two different brands. Yes, the lines are both fully pressurized (on) and yes the cartridge and parts are in right side up. I cannot figure out why I am losing 1.5 gallons per minute in the flow and Kohler help desk isn't open again until Monday. PLEAAASE HELP!
I adjusted the flow restrictor to max 6 gpm. The range is 4.5 to 6 gpm. There doesn't seem to be any improvement in the flow rate. Any more ideas out there? Please help if you can!

There are built in flow restrictors in all newer model fixtures to reduce the flow. Some are in the body itself and some are in the shower head. They have become really clever on hiding them. If you look on the outlet side of the valve body you should see only a small hole where as the inlet has a full 1/2" flow. You can drill out the small holes and get more volume.

Moen Shower Body Cartridge Removal amp; Troubleshooting

If you have to replace the cartridge inside of your Moen shower body then you will need to follow a few simple steps. The Moen Shower Body cartridge inside of the posi-temp, Moen plastic cartridge and also the brass cartridge can all be removed, replaced and possibly rebuilt depending on the condition and age of the cartridge that is in the shower body. You will also need some tools to remove the cartridge form the Moen shower body. You will need a Moen cartridge puller, a Flathead screw driver, a Philips head screwdriver, and possible a pair or vise grips if the cartridge is really stuck inside of the shower body.

Once you have all of your tools ready you will want to make sure that the water is off to the shower body. You can just shut the water off to your shower if you have isolation valves for that fixture, meaning you will have separate valves to shut the shower body. If you do not have isolation valves to shut the water off to the shower you are working on you probably will have to shut the water main to your home of business. You must have the water shut off in order to remove the moen shower body cartridge. You cannot change, replace or even rebuild the cartridge if the water is still on.

Jordan, Crystal and Clara: Why I didn#39;t do my reading for class...

The faucet in the tub in our bathroom has been leaking for about a week, and Crystal isn't very happy about it. It drips more than two gallons in eight hours (she tried to catch the excess in a tub to use in watering the garden) and she doesn't want to waste so much water. On Monday night, she went out to dinner with some lady friends and I stayed home to get study, get Clara to bed and fix the leak. We had checked out a plumbing book from the library earlier that day and I was perusing it after Crystal left when I decided to work on the leak for a few minutes before it was time for Clara to go to bed. I thought Clara would get a kick out of watching me work. After taking everything apart, I couldn't find anything amiss, so I put it back together and went two flights down to turn the water back on. I went back up and it was still leaking. With the water still on (cue laughter now, I know)...
