You can buy a Brita filter pitcher anywhere (try Walmart). I actually bought the refill filters on eBay, for a fraction of the price too.......
This video is one that I sent to Drak (NCHiker1970) to show him how I've been using a Brita filter to sweeten the water I've treated with Clorox ...
Basically I'm so cheap that I can't afford top shelf vodka or a Brita Filter (Note: I'm in college). So really I'm asking for a better, CHEAPER alternative to filtering vodka (assuming you believe in the whole cheap stuff thats filtered multiple times is just as goo as top shelf). Any sugestions would be great! Thanks!
Splurge for the 151... you'll need less... it'll last longer.
Otherwise, I can't imagine that 'filtering' the vodka is going to have any positive effects (probably a huge waste of time...). Perhaps you should be more creative with the mixers you choose. I've served some pretty shitty vodka in some pretty yummy drinks... And some were none the wiser.

A friend of mine told me "you can turn Crystal Palace (some of the cheapest vodka around here) into Grey Goose". He said that by filtering the vodka through a simple water filter like a Brita pitcher, you can drastically improve the taste and quality of vodka. Is this true? If so, would the same apply to cheap bourbon or rum? Thanks people!

So you think you might want to get a water filter system for your home or office, to get rid of contamination or poor water quality, but you don’t have a clue where to start?
Water filter systems come in a vast array of styles and specifications, from really simple pitchers costing very little or a counter top, faucet mount unit which can be very easy to install. These don’t usually need any special tools and are relatively cheap to install.
Full house filter systems tend to have between 12-16 stages of filtration and can cost well over one thousand dollars.
There are lots of models available from different manufacturers to suite most budgets and requirements, but basically you get what you pay for.
Countertop units are good because of their ease of installation, whereas the undersink versions are good if you don’t want to see the unit, both are pretty straight forward to install with the countertop being the easiest.

As many of you probably know, waterways are being polluted by phosphates, nitrates and sulphates caused by the human element of the environment.
this is probably not a huge problem where the sewers are well maintained, but in areas where the sewers are not well maintained this causes algae blooms and poisoning of wildlife. i must also mention that run off from agriculture is a major pollutant - which this idea does not address.
the idea is to direct domestic greywater systems (kitchen/bathroom sink, shower/bath, dishwasher/clotheswasher etc) into a sediment tank before releasing the waste water into the sewer.
this is specifically how this invention would work:
1. drain water is aerated by a technique similar to homogenisation (used in milk) under strong ultraviolet light (causing ozone to form). the effect would hopefully be the further oxidisation of any reactions that can be oxidised further. this would also kill any microbes.
