It has a 4 year warranty, but I think I threw out the papers! I would really like it fixed and cannot find any info on the web. The digital light/ gallons filtered reading no longer lights up. I only used about 20 gallons of filtered water with this unit, so I'm dissappointed. Anyone have experience in fixing this type of unit?
Your product is most likely dated by its serial no.Get this info and contact dupont ask what to do they might provide you with paperwork to get it replaced.goodluck.don't give up.

I currently own one. I have the chrome one with the blue digital meter. Good for 200 gallons. Best faucet mounted filter I've purchased to date. I've owned Pur and Brita. Unfortunately I don't remember where I purchased it and I'm due for a new one.

We have well water, and it just taste awful, we have a filter for it, but it doesn't seem to really work. We have a DuPont water filter, not a Brita or a Pur, should we change our filter or should we just buy bottled water? Is it cheaper in the long run to use a filter or buy bottled water, and when I say bottled water, I'm not talking about the expensive brands like Aquafina or Dasani, just regular generic bottled water from a grocery store.
Our well water smells and taste like rotting eggs because of the sulphur, it's so bad, it stains the tub, toilet, sink, everything. I'm fine with using it for cooking, because it gets boiled, but if it stains everything, that's probably not good to have in your body.
I would recommend trying something new such as:
1st getting a new filter and then after the water is filtered, boil it. Don't and any extra things in like sugar or salt. Just boil the plain water for about 20-30 minutes. Then find some empty bottles to put the water in and place them in the fridge/freezer(whichever you choose). This may make the well water taste a little better. If all else fails, just buy cheap, affordable water bottles, but it cant hurt to try!!!
I noticed that I had cloudy water (not from air) in my tap water.
I installed a DuPont filter that mounts on tap.
City water Chico, CA.
My water is still cloudy? to best describe it, it looks like a small piece of toilet paper is dissolved in it. It settles to the bottom of the glass semi suspended.
I would suggest doing the following:
1) Do not use that water until you find out if it's safe. I definitely would not drink it.
2) Retain a sample of the cloudy water (for testing -- in case you've used the water and someone gets sick from it).
3) If the cloudiness only occurred after you installed the DuPont filter, then uninstall the filter and see if the water is still cloudy. If it's not cloudy, then call DuPont and ask them why the filter you installed made your tap water cloudy. If they don't suggest a fix, then return the filter as defective.
4) If it's still cloudy after you remove the filter, call your water company and ask what is wrong with your water, what the foreign particles are, and if they say it's safe then ask them to give you written proof.
5) Call the Health Department if you don't get satisfactory results from the Water department.
Good luck, and stay healthy!

It removes odor, color, bad taste from metals, organics, chlorine, sand and dirt.
Activated carbon removes odor, color and taste. Carbon typically lasts 6-8 months based on usage before needing changed.
Reverse Osmosis removes everything from the water including parasites and disease.
Culligan makes an excellent filter. Dupont and GE also make good filters.
