I just purchased a new refirgerator with a built in ice maker and water dispenser. The problem is, I have a water softener and did not have the refrigerator water bypassed. I do have a R/O filter under the sink for drinking water and was wondering if the filter on the refrigerator was enough to filter the water.

I have never had an RO filter but have had wells with softeners. The water is fine to drink.

Is there any way that I can clean my water filter for my frigidaire side by side refrigerator? The ice & water do not taste very good anymore. I dont want to buy a new filter if i dont have to.

Replacement. they contain activated charcoal to help remove undesirable tastes - not "Cleanable".

I have a Kenmore refrigerator and the filter indicator tells me it needs to be changed around every 6-8 months. The filter are around $50 a pop so its a bit costly. Where is the best/cheapest place to purchase a replacement filter & could you extend the life of the filter by cleaning it?

I have a GE model refrigerator in which there is a knob at the bottom grill to turn to the left 1/4 of the way in order to pull out and replace the filter. I rent and this is my first time doing this and It wont come "unstuck" Am I doing something wrong? Is this common or am I just super weak?

I have a fridge like that and it shouldn't be too hard. Use a pair of pliars or something so you can get some torque on it.

my refrigerator's water filter replace reminder light is on, want to replace it, but can't find where the water filter is on, is it on the bottom, inside or behind the fridge?

they are down by the floor in the front.
