Why is my pool water yellow only after adding shock !?
Pool Time

Every time we add shock to the pool it turns amber-yellow. We have had the water tested and is fine. I heard this could be metals in the water. I'm not sure what to use to correct the problem. I heard you can add baking soda? Please help summer will be over before we can swim.

Is this a brominated pool by any chance? If so, there's your answer. You CAN use a chlorine based shock in a bromine pool, but it'll do exactly what you're describing. Traditionally, to avoid that happening, people use a non chlorine shock for bromine based pools.

We added calcium to our pool water and areas of liner now yellow?
day 179

Told to add 10 pounds of powdered calcium to our inground pool (20,000 gallon volume water) and this morning there are areas of the liner on the bottom of the pool that are yellow. I scrubbed with long brush, but doesn't seem to budge. Any suggestions?
Concrete inground pool, vinyl liner, 20,000 gallons of water. All chemicals at good levels.

That is an unheard of amount of powdered Calcium. Your pool must have had pure acid in it.

Any chemical added in quantity will cause a stain or bleaching of vinyl liners. Chemicals must be added slowly allowing them to be absorbed by the water and dispersed evenly.

Once it is stained, you are stuck with it.

Why is my pool water yellow? Is it pollen, or algae?
Poking Around

It is easy to brush up, so i think it's pollen, but i don't know how to get rid of it!

yellow and floating on top of the water is pollen...green slimy goo is algae.
Your pool skimmer should clean off the pollen, it may be clogged-clean it out. Chlorine and shock treatments will take care of 'growing' algae gunk, I don't know if they do anything for the pollen. Call your local pool installer and ask what they recommend...you might need a better filter screen or setup if the pollen is real bad.

How do I fix my yellow pool water?
Above and Below

I have an easy set 10x30 pool. I emptied the water out and refilled it Tuesday afternoon and then finished filling it up Wednesday morning. Wednesday afternoon, I started to notice that it was starting to turn yellow. This morning when I woke up, I put metal out in the pool because I have well water (and the water softener runs every 4 days). The water cleared up a little, but by this afternoon, it is VERY yellow..a golden yellow. I've had problems with this pool before and I've spent money on different chemicals, which didn't work. What is the BEST thing to do for the pool water?
Umm..I haven't even been in the pool, ass.

Don't pee in the pool!

Why would clear pool water turn yellow when a chlorine tablet was added?
21/365  {The :::Deep::: End}

Do you know what to do to clear up the water? Would baking soda help?

Chlorine and ClO2 both have a yellow appearance. You probally used to much. It should dissipate in a day or so but I wouldn’t go swimming untill the Cl levels goes down.

  • Szechenyi Bath | Budapest Xperience

Budapest can rightly be called the city of spas, and the Szechenyi Bath and Spa was its first thermal baths on the Pest side. At the time, back in 1881, it was called “Artesian Bath”, and was only a temporary establishment. In 1913, it was converted into a permanent bath, and received its present name and most parts of its pretty yellow building complex. In 1927, beach sites, as well as public bathing departments for gentlemen and ladies were added. In 1960, another expansion added a group thermal section (for use in bathing suites), and a daytime outpatient hospital. The year of 1999 saw a complete reconstruction of the swimming pools. Water filtering and circulation devices were added, and the fancy bath received high standard equipment and modern elements. The renovation and reconstruction work continues, partially closing down different sections each year.

The Yellow Factor: The Winner of American Idol Is.......

Well I have picked the winner. I had some really funny answers to certain questions but there was just something about the performance of one certain blogger that made it impossible to overlook. I'm not sure if it was the witty answers, the pictures or the use of video... but that is commitment, people. I think these dolls are in for some fun. So with that I give you the winner and her winning answers. There was a time in my life when I didn't wear underwear. I didn't have to worry about whether to put my underwear on first or not. But then I turned 25 and finally learned how to use the potty. When I got rid of the diapers, I bought lots and lots of beautiful underwear. It was so beautiful in fact that I wanted to show it off to the entire world. So I did. Except the police didn't like it and they told me I had to wear clothes over my beautiful underwear or I'd have to go to jail. Well..since...
