I DO NOT want to buy a pump. Is it possible to syphon water from an underground irrigation well to water my yard? When I tried, I got a mouth full of water but it didn't flow. Doesn't the water source have to be above where the water will flow out, like a gas tank? Any other free/cheap ways to get water out of the irrigation?
Syphons work only when the water flows from a higher to a lower level.

We have culinary water for our house and secondary (irrigation) water for our sprinkler system in our lawn. We recently installed a spigot next to our garden that feeds off the irrigation water, sprinkler system. We thought it would be cheaper to use the irrigation water on the garden because we water so much, but now I've heard that irrigation water can be hazardous to use on vegetable that we will be eating. Is this true?
Only if you are near a major fertilizer maker or other dangerous chemical manufacturer. Such as pesticides, etc. Irrigation water is excellent for watering gardens, but I would recommend having at least tested two years in a row for dangerous chemicals. If it turns up clean two years in a row, it's a pretty safe bet you are o.k.

I moved into the rental and havent needed to water the lawn. It beginning to get hotter and would like to know if I am on city water or irrigation to water thge lawn. I have received a bill from the city for water for the past 2 months.
Well if you have any of those bills, you can look at the bottom of it and call the number. You will be directed to the water pant and you can ask them and they will be able to answer your question with-in minutes.

Also, when providing water for irrigation (domestic or commercial), the quantity of water to be used is shown in mm. None of the "great scientific minds of our time", however, show what this quantity of water is in terms of volume (gallons or litres). Why is that?
Farmers can't easily tell how much water is in 900 mm or 12 inches, but thats what all the literature shows! And, last time I looked, no conversaion table could convert mm (length) into litres (volume), so whay do they keep persisting in misleading info?
The volume of rainfall can be calculated as hectare-mm or acre-inches in an area or watershed.
The equation is:
rainfall volume = hectares in watershed x mm of rain
rainfall volume = acres in watershed x inches of rain

On one of the sites I googled I found this:

Another site agreed, saying that the "irrigation water receptacle" is a pond from which the rest of the gardens are watered. The source of the pond is not disclosed - a spring, a stream, a well???

Its leaders, or rather leader, has effectively made the world believe that he is unpredictable, that one day he could really strike American or South Korean targets.
Japan, Russia and China are all concerned, but not as badly as the other two countries. He has the gun; he seems to have the will to use it. The missing element is the excuse. (Of course, the other side of the argument is that he is already using them and reaping the benefits at least from the immediate south.) Now there are many of us who think that we are too far away or too detached to be concerned about this issue.
But suppose it was not North Korea, but Egypt. Suppose it tried a missile in its vast deserts. Suppose it stood its ground and kept trying them even at a great cost to its international relations. It would of course regain its old stature in the Arab world, Israel would not leave a stone unturned to destroy the country’s missile capabilities, and we in Ethiopia would at last live in constant fear of the consequences of a grave transboundary issue that followed the currents of the river Nile.
