i am moving into a rental property that is on a well water system. The bathtubs are orange and so is the dishwasher..I am considering treating it for bacteria. If so how do i do it and is it expensive? Thanks
The orange is rust. It comes from high iron content in the water. Iron occurs naturally in well water. It is not a sign of bacteria. It can make the water taste funny. The only way to know if bacteria is a problem is to have the water tested.
THIS IS A PUMP SYSTEM AND FILTRATION SYSTEM USED FOR A RESIDENCE ON WADMALAW ISLAND.
I just posted about a squeal in the pressure portion of my water system and it was suggested I bleed the air out of the system, I am handy but don't know how to do that. any help
Your well system has to have some air in the resevoir tank or the water will never come out. If you have a newer blue or green bladder tank, (that's a tank with a rubber bladder installed to keep the air and the water separated), it will be pressurized, ideally, to the same pressure at which your pump kicks on and starts pumping more water. If you have an old style resevoir tank, where the air becomes trapped above the water to provide pressure for release, then you most likely need a new air volume control. It's a little silver thing that looks similar to a flying saucer, only on it's edge, and it's screwed into the side of the tank. It has a small rubber diaphram inside, that can rupture after years of use and allow air to get into the lines. Mine does it about once a year. Other than that there should be no air in your lines.

I have a well system that includes a pumb and a pressure tank. When ever any water is running in the house the pressure switch cycles on and off every second. If you look at the pressure guage it bounces between 50 and 30 psi with every cycle. I am wondering if the problem would be in my pressure tank, my pressure switch, the discharge control capacitor, or the well pump itself?
most likely your tank is a diaphragm tank and the water has leaked past the diaphragm and has water logged the tank requiring you to get a new tank

unsure of brand, runs off well water, need plumbing diagram of complete system installation, 20-40 psi
You should have a borehole pump and then I would suggest fitting a header tank above the pump. You can get a float switch in the tank to get the pump to fill it when it goes low. If you make the tank high enough (I would say about 10 feet) you will get enough pressure. Then you can fit your filter on the wall outside your house at the incoming point to the house and connect it to the tank with a pipe.
Option two will be to run from the pump to the filter and have a presseure switch on the line if the pressure goes low the pump will come on. Otherwise you can fit a paddle flow switch on the water line and if the tap opens the water will flow and the pump will come on.
My gran and my sister had the water header or reservoir system and my sister had the filter on the wall.
We just moved into a renovated farm house with a well. There is low pressure and the water smells like sulfer. There is a water softner installed and it seems to be workig okay, but the smell and the pressure are not good. Any ideas? I've never had a well before so I am totally ignorant on this...
Thank You!
I certainly hope you had a well and septic inspection before purchase (required in my locale); first place to check would be your local county health department; next place your county extension service for downloadable information concerning wells that would be specific to your region.

If you’re a car care enthusiast, you already know that towel-drying is a must if you want to prevent water spots. Well, CR Spotless Water Systems is changing that rule.
Water spots occur because all water is full of minerals, like calcium, magnesium, sodium, and various other dissolved mineral salts. You might have heard of total dissolved solids in reference to tap water. All water has them, and they’re a real problem for detailers. When water evaporates, it leaves these minerals behind on the vehicle in little rings that we call water spots. Eventually, minerals etch auto paint. The etching requires compounding. It’s best to prevent water spots altogether with the CR Spotless Water Systems.
Before CR Spotless Water Systems , you had to towel-dry your vehicle to prevent water spots. We carry many microfiber drying towels that are excellent quality and very safe on paint, but wouldn’t it be great if you could skip that step? Just wash, rinse, and go. You can do exactly that with CR Spotless Water Systems.

Sounds crazy, but enthusiasts often do crazy things in the name of performance. When it comes to moving heat, density is king, and water beats air by several orders of magnitude in volumetric heat capacity. Now, with that physics-jargon-laden sentence out of the way, let's talk a little more about how water cooling works.
Anyone in the cooling business should be familiar with the benefits of using liquids as an exchange medium. This is especially true in the automotive industry, where fluid-cooled engines are far more common now than air-cooled varieties. Liquid cooling is also picking up steam (ha!) in the HVAC industry, where geothermal systems utilize water's excellent thermal characteristics to harness the constant temperature of the Earth. Thanks to the use of a superb heat mover like water and a heatsink as large as the Earth itself, common heat pumps and blowers can manage the temperatures of entire buildings with huge increases in efficiency over traditional furnaces and air exchangers.
